In his new, definitely real role Harry will be “expected to have input into initiatives including product strategy decisions and charitable contributions, and advocate publicly on topics related to mental health.” These are real tasks for a real job. Despite having no experience at a start-up, no tech experience, and

Harry is more than likely going to be a spokesperson for this company.

You’re right. No reason we can’t do both at once. But we’re not. And let’s remember the massive thumb on the scale that is the imfluence the wealthy have on those politicians to keep perpetuating the system that benefits them both to the detriment of the larger body politic.

I’m curious what is your statute of limitations on teens behaving stupidly? Yeah McCammond was wrong but does that mean she should never be hired by any company ever? Pretty high sentence I think. No one is without sin or fault. And most of us did and said stupid things as a teen. Luckily that was pre-social media for

I have nothing to say about this except that I think Damien Hirst’s work is hideous.

We don’t have to tolerate or accept bigotry, but I feel uncomfortable at the suggestion that opinions are something people are only ‘allowed’ to have. Even vile ones.

Thank you for acknowledging that this was both anti-Asian and anti-woman violence. All of the coverage that is failing to call out the targeting of (specifically Asian) women is making me crazy. Pointing out that it is both does not take away from the fact that we are experiencing an acute problem with anti-Asian

*beats head repeatedly off desk, causing the cat to question the logic of keeping me alive*

I have no doubt that the governor of Mississippi is a bigot of the worst sort - but seriously.. it is so weird to me that some of you throw a fit over this. For most people this has nothing to do with being lgbtq-phobic at all. Someone who is born physically but not mentally as a male is still physically a male. Even

Wait, why are we tearing Hailey down/pitting women against each other? What did I miss?

Completely agree with this. We discourage people from growing when we dredge up tweets from a point in their lives where their brains are not fully developed yet. I was a pretty shitty person in high school too, I was just fortunate to have lived that part of my life in the years before Twitter existed.

She was a teenager when she said those things, and has since apologized for it. A lot of us had bad opinions when we were teenagers.

I dunno - what qualifications do you need? It’s not like she’s curing cancer or something.

So the tweets are over 10 years old and date back to when she was a teenager, weren’t kept a secret from her employer and she had already apologized for them two years ago, and she hasn’t expressed anything even remotely similar in the 10 years since the tweet? Um, yeah, I would say it’s time to move on, no? Or is the

Call me crazy, but this controversy seems small beans to other similar controversies. Like, maybe this doesn’t demand slamming the “Outrage” button, maybe the “Not Cool” button would be more appropriate. Or the “We See You Said Some Dumb Shit In College So We’re Keeping An Eye On You” button.

I can virtually guarantee you that progressives don’t see it this way. I am personally thankful for the temporary help, but without correcting the imbalances that lead us to this point, this is a band-aid and we’ll be back to begging for scraps soon enough.

Andraya was never ever a young girl. As a child, she was a young boy & is still a biological male. Nobody is preventing anyone from running. All that’s being asked is that all athletes compete in the category associated with their biological sex, or that one category be set aside for biological females while the other

Nope. Jezebel keeps barking up this tree with the wrong take. Two credos to live by:

I’ve seen other women run circles around guys in the field of athletics”

I do know that the issue isn’t as simple as “conservatives just hate trans people.”
