Exactly! I experienced this in my 2015 Expedition. As with most Ecoboost 3.5s, the electronic throttle body failed (at a whopping 60K miles; what quality!?). I was just starting up the incline to a large bridge over a huge rail-yard and the vehicle just kinda went into “limp mode” as if it were in neutral. Now, I’m in

The worst auto-manual thing I drove was a Peugot rental I got in London. What a nightmare pile of crap that thing was. I had to do stop-and-go traffic around London and Oxfordshire for two weeks in that herky-jerky pile of junk. I welcome a 2 year lease in a used Dodge Journey over another one of those.

Some engineers, who were victims of poor-planning and penny-pinching, will possibly be reprimanded or fired, but nobody in management, particularly upper management, will even get a mild scolding for this.

Let’s be honest: Ford and GM have equally defective cultures and will always put $ ahead of customers or safety. Sadly, a trend I’m seeing in many industries with no real accountability in sight.

The answer to your wife’s question was “Yes. There is something wrong with this car: The transmission was designed and manufactured by f*cktards”.

I test drove a Focus hatch with this POS trans back in 2012 and I had to do a double-take to make sure I wasn’t driving a high-mileage used car. I can’t believe anyone test drove one of these then actually bought them.

Oh sure, all this and people are still shitting on diesels!

Succulent reply.

I only came here for the comments and am leaving satisfied.

What a prick!

Cement is ideal tho. On my asphalt driveway, during hot weather, I have to put a section of 2x8 under my jack stands so they don’t sink into my driveway. Like, I take the wheels off, finish the work, then I go to put the wheel back on and the car isn’t high enough: WTF?? Oh, the jack stand has sunk into the driveway

Did you inquire as to the availability and price of this Jeep?

I think $2000-3000 is the “why the hell not” going price these days. Any more than that and we’re talking about potential financial ruin!

I also find it interesting that we Gen Exers have been left out of the conversation. It’s all Millennials vs Baby Boomers, and Gen Ex all on the sidelines, like spectators drinking a beer.

I really like this thing. I’d love to set up a reenactment of the OJ chase using this and some baby LTD LAPD cars. It would be like a 3/4 scale OJ chase. But $6500 is eating into my production budget of $0 so CP.

The thing about these 70s cars is that they weren’t bad; they were actually terrible. Like, they were uglier and tackier than their 60s predecessors, but they also had way less power, didn’t really get any better mileage, and were typically built on a platform that had been hanging around since the mid-late 60s. It

Meh. I’d just remove that oddball front brush-bar thing. Other than that I don’t hate it, and it is this apathy or absence of hate that allows me to bequeath a vote of “Tentative NP”.

Doors Greatest Hits 8 Track is mandatory.

Tough business.

Those speakers look hi-fi AF
