I harbor zero ill will toward the iron duke. I worked on gobs of cars(and trucks) with that lump.  All of GMs engines should have been so simple and durable.

At that displacement, I always assumed they were I5s. I learnt stuff today.

Missed opportunity to use the more apropos name ZR2 Armadillo. CP

Something about how the trunk meets the raised top on this 944 just looks wrong. It’s too flat of a boot for this car and looks lazily designed. IMO.

You like big four bangers? You’re in luck then! GM put the 2.5 “Iron Duke” in about 75,000,000 vehicles in about every driveline configuration imaginable. And you can get any of them for $4!!!

Dat flip phone tho....

No turbo; no NP.

That’s a good one too. Definitely a dialogue-heavy comedy.

Hhhhhhhaaaaaaarrrrmy training sir!!!

Our big toe

I agree with all except Slapshot, because I’ve never seen it.

Caddyshack can also start a quote-a-thon as well. Stripes also.

Author’s humble brag, confirming having had multiple bouts of coitus in his lifetime notwithstanding: NP.

Star for information which filled in one of my many memory gaps.

I guess most work vans (Astro included) have kinda been replaced by those Sprinter-van (and whatever Ford calls their little euro-looking work van thing), of which I have no opinion because I’ve not driven one.

We had two in our family and while the drive trains were pretty robust, the rockers had the shelf life of sliced avacado in hot sunlight.

Star for thoroughly vetted, informative and rational post.

How about “those who overpaid the most for the shittiest car....”? That would apply to anyone who bought a Cobalt but at a Civic price.

I’m thinking buy an old Volare, a really bad one, and drive it daily to remind them of what they’ve done.
