Until I had a friend build one- I didn’t either. I think the term “kit car” can be misleading. I was amazed at some of the stuff he had to fab or was left to “figure it out in his own”. It took him a few years. He was holding a FT job too. Kids grown/gone. This is a guy whose worked at full service shops for ~35 years…

Yeah, I don’t get it either. Bikes, old cars with horrifying emissions and no cats are okay; but something like a skyline or kei car is too dangerous/ has emissions that are “too high”.

Does it really have to be said that the cars are ran hard? Isn’t that the point? How the hell else do you reckon they can rate handling or acceleration or publish “yeah we tested 0-60 @ x time”. And it’s not their car, they don’t have to fix it when/if it breaks.
