If only some company somewhere would make a car that already had an LS in it...

>Even Corvettes?

Especially Corvettes.

Coming from a precious S2000 owner... 100lb engine?

Having done a top on an S2000... holy fuck I never want to do another again.

100Lb engine? This has to be a troll.  A motorcycle engine is more than 100 pounds.

Got my like-new, stock, clean af ‘07 with 62k on the clock for $20k. They’re out there.

Even if COTD was no longer a thing, shouldn’t we all be striving for COTD-worthiness? While I love cars and car news, 60% of the time I come to Jalopnik is for the comments.

A dressed stock F20/F22 is over 300lbs, not 100.  LS engines are incredibly small and light for their displacement and power.  Yes it will add nose weight, but not nearly as much as you’re stating.  Plus this is still behind the front axle so adding weight to both ends not just the nose.

You apparently haven’t noticed that COTD hasn’t been a thing. The last one was 3+ weeks ago. You’re not going to get the recognition you’re so thirsty for, especially with unfunny stuff.

Even a crackhead like Gollum wouldn’t buy this thing.

On a long enough timeline, every car gets an LS swap

No worries. Who wants a car less than 15 years old?

OES for German vehicles are my favorite. I’ve gotten very good at figuring out who makes what for who, and I love when I open the package and the automaker’s logo was clearly ground off so they could sell it in their own packaging.

The quality of dealerships and independent technicians varies wildly by area. In the LA area it’s not uncommon to see dealers paying a shittier wage than most good independent shops. However, that doesn’t mean the independent shops are paying that much more. But as a technician, I can’t help but laugh.

With all due respect, I have never seen any independent tire shop yet (at least in 20 years of car ownership in California, NJ, NY and PA) that will balance your wheels for free every 7500 miles for the life of the tire. I have seen some that will rotate them for free. And for people who drive a lot and go far away

It's techs not buildings that are responsible for repair quality, and costs, I'd love for more people to understand that.

#2 happened to my mom at the Toyota dealership- Cost $1400. They used non-Toyota parts which broke down in 6 months. When confronted they said Mom said yes- and it was to save her money. Would honor it for 1 year. So again replaced parts with non-toyota. Guess what happened 6 months later? This time got the sorry not

#2 would piss me off so much. If I brought it in and got some bullshit budget brake pads or something I would rip that motherfuckers head clean off. One time the dealership forgot to TIGHTEN MY LUGNUTS - I was 1 e-mail away from suing them.

This is going to be too far down to get attention but I have to speak my piece.
