THIS. My father declined the flu shot and has spent the last 5+ weeks in the hospital. Flu -> Pneumonia -> ARDS ->Lung, Kidney, and congestive heart failure. He’s on the mend now, but seriously people, get your damn flu shot!

Ad mentions a beefed up pumpkin out back.

How long ago did you purchase this beautiful automobile? The market continues to rise on these cars so your car might be selling for a lot more money if purchased today. Also, how far away was the car from you? I’m assuming it didn’t come from the northeast if it’s like-new.... One day I hope to join the S2000 club.

The chick in the picture is a lot more interesting than the money pit “Disco”. Still CP.

I worked with a gentleman who owned an AP1 who needed to change out his timing chain tensioner (TCT). TCT seems to be one of the very few design flaws in that engine. Lack of lubrication or broken down oil is likely what caused the timing chain guides to fail in the TSX. Wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the

TL;DR These cars are amazing, but the steering rack is probably the Achilles heel, not the timing chain. Suspension and AC components wear out too.

Lack of 6th gear makes me sad :(

Hard to justify almost $14k on an 18 year old SUV off roader that would be covered in rust after a few short years of the Northeast’s wintery brine. Maybe I’m just salty, but if I was going to spend that much coin, I would rather buy something sporty with a domestic V8, RWD, manual transmission, and drive it

I follow the logic through most of this plan (however improbable to succeed given your constraints and the unknowns you will face), but what I can’t wrap my head around is why you’re inconveniencing a stranger to give up part of his weekend to go to his shop (on a Sunday) and machine a used flywheel when you could

Ford Mustang is the longest lasting sports car, eh? I wonder if Ford has figured out how to handle (and not contaminate) the aluminum hoods. According the one of the above links, an Audi TT is more likely to reach 150k than a Mustang or a Miata... When did German cars and their electrical gremlins become long lasting?

Ditto.

Sorry to hear that.

That’s awful and must have cost your dad a small fortune to have to replace so many tires. Did he have a dash cam to catch these rats in the act?

I always read about how fit and finish quality was poor back then, but didn’t realize how obvious it was in photos. The body panels/doors/ lines look really misaligned here. This was supposed to be a flagship car too.

Where’s 6th gear?

I’m not a fan boy of either company, but as many have pointed out, this Tesla is an older version of the model S, not the current one for sale. So this isn’t really a great or fair comparison.

The only way this is a NP is if Drew Barrymore came with it.

You get a star because you seem like you know what you’re talking about.

I’d rather spend 1/4 of that on a Bronco with 2 doors and manual transmission. Maybe a bit more if it’s “rust free”.
