Would you like some console with your touchscreen sir?
Depending on the miles you plan on putting on your buy-back TDI (and the model year), I would concerned about expensive post-warranty costs.
It *only* came with a 5 speed transmission and not a 6 speed. The “Hose from Hell” replacement that is essentially an engine out operation.

Good call. Niether would I.
Your comments immediately reminded me of one of my favorite Michael Scott moments...
Shouldn’t there be some mandatory safety equipment (i.e. battery kill switch) on any vehicle on the race track to prevent issues like this from happening?
This is a great breakdown. You get a star.

You made the right call selling it. CEL can be money pits.
2nd gear: I wish we could have a Toyota Hilux with a diesel engine in the USA. Shit, I would gladly take any of the offending units (especially if equipped with 3 pedals) from our Aussie friends, but then I couldn’t register it for 25 years...
My father sold Isuzus for a short period of time in the 90's. He recalled to me that many customers would bring them in burning oil with only 60k on the clock. This thing must drink oil by the gallon with over 200k on it.
Please share more details on your investment strategy. Would like to buy a house in a few years and would like to grow my down payment fund...
