The point of an expert witness is to educate the jury about a specific issue or topic relevant to the case. He basically just read a pharmacology textbook at them without any explanation or context. To anyone not in pharmacology those are a string of random words and the expert failed to do his job in a spectacular

“When asked if he held any licenses, the doctor said ‘I hold a driver’s license.’”

For everyone that’s asking why or how, there’s something going on behind the scenes.

Well delineated.

Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix said in a Tuesday statement to news outlets that they wanted to arrange a reunion without sending Aubrey back into hiding, but their plan was spoiled by a family member who warned Aubrey.

Making a lot of assumptions here, aren’t you? What do you know about what this kid was running from?

At that same age, if I could have run away I would. What was stopping me was that I knew I was too young and too poor to survive without doing things I didn’t want to do, and I also loved most of my family. I almost ran across the country to my grandmother’s house, but she lived in a seniors area and I wouldn’t have

Yeah, sound like living with his dad actually was kind of a big deal. It takes a lot for people to just abandon their shit like that and the fact that he felt the need to put strict terms on a reunion says a lot.

The dichotomy in the comments here is really interesting. Not a lot of equivocating. Just “kid’s an asshole” or “kid probably had a good reason to do it”.

Again, if it was the “bad situation”, high likelihood law enforcement would have just taken him home as a minor. And too many times lately I have read articles about DSS not removing kids from a reported bad situation(see that article from last week about 6 adopted kids being driven off a cliff by activist parents?

Nope. I’m on the kid’s side. He saw a situation that was going south quickly, realized his dad was about to throw a MAGA hat on, and said “nah, I’m out.” People can call him selfish and a horrible little shit, new age hippy dippy whatever but at least he had the courage to get the fuck out of what sounds like a

Yep, should just suck it up and live with an abusive parent...

IDK you guys... As a parent I would obvs be devestated if my son did this, but as someone who left home at the same age, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what he did.

Did you...read the article?

I mean, selfish is an option, like most teenagers. Or he could have been fleeing a bad situation, and didn’t want to be returned there. Or he could have had mental health issues that prevented clear thinking on the matter. I am one to give the kid the benefit of the doubt on this one.

My mom always tells me that evil never dies so, I see where you are going with this.

100% agree on all points. The world has a long way to go when it comes to removing the stigma of mental illness and properly treating people but that is beside the point from letting this person rot forever.

She stabbed two children under 6 multiple times. The little girl had defense wounds. I couldn’t give less of a shit about her depression. Millions of people deal with depression and don’t do things like this.

I honestly don’t care how crazy this woman is or was at the time. The way she murdered those children was horrific and she’s never seemed to give one fuck. Plenty of mentally ill people do something in the state of psychosis and feel something afterwards. Fuck her. Flush her down the toilet. Leave her in a dark hole

Thank you for this well-written and gut-wrenching article. Having recently gone through one of those “life-upending” tragedies - my father, a historically non-violent person, killed my mother and then himself, completely out of the blue - I find myself thinking about mental illness and where accountability
