Imagine pumping water up 189 floors. That's some crazy pressure! If my calculations are right, that would be about 1.5 Msi (million pounds per square inch) at the bottom floor. With pressure like that they would have to have reservoirs every few floors to pump from or something.

They do have a little thing that runs paper and ink over your card at grocery stores when things aren't working. They just file it manually at the end of the day.

I have had mine for about 6 months and it works great! The range is good, but limited compared to other adapters with large antennas. A ghetto rig with some aluminum foil makes this thing work over a huge distance. Overall great little adapter.
