Exactly.

One thing to keep in mind with these cheap parts on our shitboxes: How long are you going to be driving said shitbox? In almost every case, whatever part you bolt onto the Accord is going to outlast the POS. So there’s no point in springing for the big buck part.

So it wasn’t for lack of trying. It was for lack of others willing to lay it out there...

I was wondering exactly the same thing. Now I kinda wish I’d kept my thoughts to myself...

Fuck. Just Fuckin’ Fuck...

Exactly. There are several 996's in similar condition on the SF Bay CL for about 5 grand less. And they haven’t spent their life in Ohio.

Exactly. Wish I could give your post more than one star...

Even though I’m solidly CP, I’m not sure I want to be associated with the 99 Rubes (as of 0745PDT) that voted NP. They come here and read the same stuff I do so it’s guilt by association... or something like that.

I was going to post in Raf’s story yesterday about the 1100 but I was buried and then forgot. I’ve had lotsa 60's Brit cars: Four Minors, three Sprites (one of ‘em a Bugeye with a 1275 and disc brakes), a ‘67 E-Jag, a ‘60 something Jag sedan that eludes me right now but no MG’s. And not an 1100.

Ha, Ha, Triumph Stags. The overheating issue was only one of many in those cars. And the need to regularly flush the cooling system so it wouldn’t overheat? What kind of fix is that? How ‘bout a properly designed cooling system that works all the time. Like every other car?

I was unaware that Brooklyn was a state separate from New York. Do New Yorkers consider the boroughs little states within the city? Peez ‘splain, Loosee...

The front bodywork is worth 17k.

Here’s an even stupider thing: I got started in Roadsters when I was 15 and joined an SCCA D-Prod race team as crew. They were running 2 litres and over the course of several years we built three different cars. Turning a street car into a production race car meant pretty much gutting the interior and so on of the

Exactly. I like different too. But to get one of these right you’re looking at 15 to 20k. And it’s hard to get parts to keep them that way. Suspension consumables. Electrical stuff. Forget cosmetics like dashboards and consoles and rubber and so on. Nissan (Datsun) stopped producing most of that stuff 30 years ago. I

Rather than get buried in Kyle’s little BS rant about Roadsters, I’ll post my experiences as a counterpoint. I’ve had five of these: Two 1600's and three 2 litres (that’s what those in the know call the 2000) and several Brit sports cars from Sprites to an XKE. When maintained properly, the Datsuns are far superior to

How ‘bout a 99 Porsche Carrera 4 with less than a 100k for half the price of this kit car:

Finish the damn story...

Exactly. In fact, do a quick Craigslist search of any major metropolitan area (I would imagine the Grand Junction, CO area isn’t rife with sporty cars in the 25k price range) with 20k as the low and 26k as the high price, tick the manual transmission box and have at it. You would be surprised what pops up. Both ways...

Maybe so but if I’ve got an LS motor and T56 under the hood of that thing, I’m going to be doing hard launches every once in a while, if only to school some dipshit in a rice rocket...

I’ve always wanted to do this swap. I had a 280SE 4.5 years ago and it was the best highway cruiser of the era. In this case though, its not done. Overpriced by 2x.
