She's seriously great in Love & Friendship. I didn't know she had it in her.

The biggest tragedy of that last season time jump was never getting to see a sweet Rothstein death scene.

Have not read much 2016 stuff yet, but I did read Trouble Boys. I'd dispute the point with Josh that the author had the full cooperation of all living members. It seemed like Chris Mars only met with him once and didn't contribute too much of his own account. Still, this was an excellent read. It was like an abject

Sweet! Can't wait.

I'm going through all of Carlin's HH podcasts in order but I totally planned to try that pairing when I got to his WWI series. Glad to hear they don't make each other redundant.

Just finished The Long Ships by Frans G. Bengtsson, which I really really loved. It's pure awesome escapist adventure about a super chill viking in around 1000 AD who we follow from his first time a-plunderin' through his middle age. It's often slyly hilarious.

I not only found W&G to be the best book of the series but maybe King's best book period.

Guh. So good. Have you read any other Wolfe?

You're right. They are incredibly deep. Just so much going on and even more things that are merely alluded to. How do Book of Long Sun and Book of Short Sun measure up? I have the first two volumes of Long Sun waiting for me in a stack at home.

Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun, which I read back in January/February and still think about weekly, especially one really really disturbing and visceral series of events from the third book. This was a stunningly good series.

because it's a shithole

Rainbo is a bar in Chicago

Ah cool. Now I don't have to have anxiety that I was going to skip a book.

Is there an alternate title for Clarissa Oakes? Goodreads shows the 15th book to be called The Truelove.

Grant Lee Buffalo's album Jubilee is the shit! Also, Grant Lee Phillips has a great album of acoustic covers of 80s colllege rock songs.

Number9Dream was the novel where he was most clearly aping Murakami. The only Murakami I've read is the Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, and I disliked it for all of the reasons you didn't like Number9Dream. I found N9D (so much easier to type!) to be a far more enjoyable read than Murakami though. Even though the many

Wolves of Calla was great right up until that climax. That was the moment this series jumped the shark for me. Wizard & Glass is some of my all-time favorite King though.

I wasn't sure how I felt about Tehanu when I finished it, but I've spent way more time thinking about it than any of the other Earthsea books.

I just found out yesterday that Criterion parted ways with Hulu and now have partnered with Filmstruck. Does anyone subscribe to this? Does anyone know what the difference is between the $6.99 pricing and the $10.99 one?

Yep. John Travolta certainly does have a great beard.
