I live in the UK. There is MUCH more tolerance for bikes. On the continent even more so. Filtering (driving between cars) is legal. It is recognised by everyone that bikers are more vulnerable. I think your last point is wishful thinking. As a rider this is one of those accidents that the bike isn’t going to avoid. The prick should be in jail. I’d love to meet him to discuss the rights and wrongs of what he did.
