My favorite part of Banana was Dean imagining picking up the bus passenger, having wild sex, falling in love, moving in with, and then taking care of him as he wastes away and dies.

I'll give the show some time to grow, but Henry was not presented as likeable in the first episode. The show seems to take a more somber approach, while Banana just seems like more enjoyable.
