100% agree. I get being cynical about big corporations adopting woke-ness as a means to sell products, but I think it’s still a big deal and legitimately great when they make the deliberate choice to center ad campaigns around groups who have been shunned and ignored. Especially when there are still so many companies

I think it’s about time we see more trans acceptance in media—in ads, tv shows, film, everything. This was so sincere and touching that it kinda got me, I have to be honest.

I don’t care if it’s a publicity grub, big companies do those all the time and have zero obligation to also make them socially aware. Not sure if this will actually be an ad shown on TV or just a web exclusive, but this may very well be the first depiction of a trans man that Joe Everyday has ever seen. That is huge.

She's checking in on her parents to see how their money is doing. Duh!

Blech. Trash family.

With some imagination, rules are too easy and so fun to bend.

More like America's royal flush.

This just reinforces the belief, amongst themselves and the most deranged of their followers, that they’re the Royal Family of the United States.

This is such a new concept, entirely foreign a few years ago. “So I had to defend myself...” No dude, you did not. People say this on the internet, get into flame wars, “I have to stand my ground.”

Dude continues to hit on someone who is not interested, refuses to take the hint, keeps pressuring her, gets insulted, gets in a fight with them, gives up, gets humiliated on his way out and has the gall to ask if he’s the asshole?

Only capitalists use bed frames.

The most ridiculous thing is... his friend warned him he was being creepy. The girls told him, straight-up, he was being creepy. He still can’t understand that he is creepy and inappropriate, and at this point... there’s really nothing that will.

There are several cringey, incel/MRA/cokehead moments in his account, but the bit about “I stood my ground” is chilling. One wonders what sort of weapons and explosives he’s stockpiling at home.

Every thing about her response is accurate. I’m proud she has that POV at 19—it will save her a decade or so of excusing this crap from creeps. “Young-looking” 30-year-olds who think you’ve still got it: good for you, now take your ego and self-confidence to a dating pool consisting of your peer group. Remember that

Fuck Moby.

He is not sorry.

Oh geez. I knew some of these guys when I was in college. Older, sensitive, slightly effeminate guy who just wants to read poetry/drink coffee/play chess/play his music for you/sleep next to you/just make out a little at your dorm room or the room he rents in a “collective” that has a twin mattress on the floor.

This young man reminds me of a friend and former student who has walked the same path.

There is such beauty in this.

Oooooh, (having been in that position before) I especially feel for that young latina woman with the much older man. No girl, when the power dynamic is that far off even if (apart from your beauty) they are attracted to your confidence, intelligence, and potentially career success when they’re courting you, it is not
