I’ve often wondered about that in regards to man-made radionucleide by-products and how much I’ve absorbed, since as a west coast kid growing up in the 50s/60s we had Yucca Flats to the NE, Bikini Atoll to the SW and then China started atmospheric testing.
Only partially, if any. WWII was a long time before, and the Marshall Plan was working full force.

They’ve been debating that since I was a kid and I graduated elementary school in 1967.
I attended grammar school with a black kid named Vasily but everyone called him Anthony. This was up until 1967, and everybody (it was very diverse, for the times in L.A.) had white names (being a Catholic school may have had something to do with it)- except for my Chicano friend Frank, who de riguer was Paco.
Evidently, the only patriots he identifies are those who are getting shafted by the business genius.
