But surely...that's what...it always was??

I see...what you did there...

Well fuck. That's awesome.

Ugh, the hyperbole from these companies really starts to hurt my head:

Yes. Thank you for this! Why must women in video games be a fucking feature to be considered against textures and particle effects? "Hmmm. You know, we devoted too many resources to the gravel and weeds against the walls, because we're going for realism here after all. We just couldn't quite squeeze a female character

Ooo. You may have missed Nintendo's introduction of Palutena. Real...classy...

This dude wins my vote! Kudos. Now where did I leave the box of tissues?

Brings new meaning to the $1.99 menu...

Yeah. Or it's cuz I suck at it. The last SSB I was decent at was for the N64, but I was a teen, so my reflexes were arguably better. Now I just want to play as a guy going for a walk looking for a cookie and then eating it.

I had a lot of fun watching that video. Thanks for reposting it here. Seems Conan sees no problem with the often controversial Zero Suit. Sigh. =P Loved his comment about Kirby at the end.

If they 'wanted' to do it, they would have. It's not the story they chose to tell, and that's perhaps another issue entirely - telling in its own right. Perhaps they might need to think about their yearly release schedule if that's the other excuse you'd like to give them. I do hope they're feeling alright after all

Read the replies below before you get too upset. I was being facetious in order to show that they've once again made a woman look ridiculous in order to show her off as a sex object. I use the contortions as a way of emphasising it. I could give a shit about proportions and all the rest. Truly not all that bothered.

While it is definitely important to broaden inclusiveness, the decision to add women to a game is not exactly the same stretch of representativeness as say, your wheelchair assassin. We're talking about half the population. This is a no-brainer.

So having a female character is a "feature", like whether or not to have Paris extend for another virtual quarter mile? I guess that's what I'm arguing against is the attitude that the default position should be: 'we'll make a female if we can manage the resources'. That's just the wrong fundamental attitude if you're

The appeal of Samus, at least originally, was that we played the whole game assuming it was a man to then be told by Nintendo that we were playing as a woman. They were basically revealing that it doesn't matter if it's a man or woman in that suit. That was quite progressive for the 1980s and it certainly made you

And the fact that you don't know any female gamers who play anything besides Candy Crush WASN'T anecdotal evidence? Ha. You're positively helpless. Good day, sir!

Ha. I was kind of kidding given Other M and Samus's appearance in SSB. It was a facetious statement meant to be taken lightly. Of course past games have been great, especially for GBA.

Ya, even a glance at the Bayonetta box art clues you in to what they're going for with her...

That's very cool. I watched the video by the way. =)

Ha. That's because you have no women in your life. Most women I know play Skyrim and kick my ass at Injustice and Mortal Kombat. Leave your stereotyping at the door, please.
