Absolutely no racisms there at all. I don't like gang members with or without badges, and having lived in NYC for almost 20 years and been the victim of reverse racism from black militants I take offense to your comments. The truth is in NYC for sure from my own personal experience and in many major cities, gang

What you don't get is that in any city the laws that restrict weapons only restrict those who follow the law from carrying a weapon. Also, those who do carry weapons in most places are required by law to pass a test and carry a permit, especially in cities. Where the problem lies is that people are not safe because

tiny pellets and can be made from lead, brass, steel, plastic

Why would you respond with such a disrespectful response to my reply? Obviously you are either a troll or an idiot or both. Or maybe just a gang member or criminal who doesn't like that decent people are now moving toward protecting themselves from common thugs who would prefer defenseless people who are easier

Other than over penetration, shotguns are excellent CQC weapons. The amount of lead they throw is massive compared to a pistol or rifle.

Fantastic article, Wes. Shotguns can be a whole lot of fun. What if you did a short piece on chokes?

The weight of the shot in the shell, measured in ounces. The higher the number, the more shot you're putting onto a target

We've all heard stories of olden day farmers loading up a shell with dry rice to run pesky kids off their property.

some people prefer lighter shot for home defense so you don't accidentally over penetrate through your walls and hit, say, your kids in another room when shooting an intruder.

Those are some serious shotguns. Have you ever been to the Oak Tree Gun Club near Magic Mountain? I went for a company tournament last year and it blew me away (haha). Definitely the coolest place to shoot skeet I have ever been.

Damn I love a sexy side by side. You all can keep your over/unders, I will take one of these any day.

I have several boxes of these. Beastly for sure.

Thanks for another great post. I encourage any citizen who isn't a felon nor mentally unstable to exercise their second amendment right to bear arms. It's a good idea to own a shotgun, a hunting rifle and a couple of concealed or open carry handguns for self defense, so long as one is well informed as to ones rights,

Wes,

SKB and a Rizzini as a Gift? Nice guy, jeezus... Those are both Heriloom quality guns. Hope that Antique gets out a bit too - the best way to care for an old gun is to shoot it!

Thanks for the article though :)

Ok, it might sound stupid, but shotguns are a lot of fun. With the big variation of loads, you can grab a few boxes of birdshot and go out plinking stuff for a good part of a day. Now on the other hand, the worst thing I ever shot was a shotgun with magnum loads. I've shot a lot of different rifles and handguns, but

Nice article. I would add that gauge makes a huge difference in function. A .410 and 12 gauge are as different as night and day. A .410 will work hunting doves, but a turkey will flat out laugh that tiny amount of lead. The photo shows a 45. cal pistol round and then a .410, 20, 12 gauge shotgun shell.

That's genius, assuming the gunpowder doesn't impact the flavor/health.

Nothing like a little Season Shot
