Other than over penetration, shotguns are excellent CQC weapons. The amount of lead they throw is massive compared to a pistol or rifle.

Nice article. I would add that gauge makes a huge difference in function. A .410 and 12 gauge are as different as night and day. A .410 will work hunting doves, but a turkey will flat out laugh that tiny amount of lead. The photo shows a 45. cal pistol round and then a .410, 20, 12 gauge shotgun shell.
