You won’t have to pay for the tow. The car is the collateral for the tow. The owner pays it (and any storage fees) to get their car back.

I’m about 99% sure someone putting their car on your property does not grant your the right to damage their car in any way.
I think I’d be arguing about that whole 9/10 of the law thing. And trespassing.
There could be an endangerment thing too. My hybrid needs a 20 amp line at 110 volts, most people only have a 15 amp plug, the wires can overheat and cause a fire, if the breaker doesn’t flip, this has happened several times to C-max owners in states where building codes are lax.
A typical house in the U.S. get 220V single phase split into two 110V phases 180 degrees out of phase with each other with a neutral from the center-tap, typically grounded at the breaker box. If you take the two 110V phases (ergo 2-phase) you can use them as a single-phase 220V supply. Most high power things like…
wire cutters work too. Those cables are expensive, unplug it and put it on Ebay. I bought a plug in Hybrid last year, and the dealership couldn’t find the one in the trunk and put in a Ford aftermarket cord, $500 list. Funny thing is, when I opened the trunk and lifted the carpet it it, there was the OEM cord.
Thanks!
I’d like to see an actual example of a municipal or state law in the US actually outlining that duty to find out who owns it before towing.
You may have an obligation to find out who owns it to notify them that it’s been towed and where, but that’s it.
She may have actually been gone longer. I was in the shower when she arrived, so we’ll say 30-45 minutes. Ultimately, I was late to work because of it.
I guess you didn’t know we have alligators around here. Look — they dragged your extension cord onto the hood and chewed it all up into little pieces!
She was gone for roughly 30 minutes.
I think so, yes. A pebble is sneakier and not as destructive.
Nice E46!
If it’s parked on your lawn?? What local jurisdiction are you talking about?
I charge with a 60 amp 220v daily. That’s what it’s designed to handle. It just makes it charge faster. Though if they were using a NEMA 5-15 in a normal 15 or 20 amp socket, you wouldn’t be able to plug it into your 220v NEMA 6-x outlet unless you also had the appropriate adapter, and in quick case, it would only…
I seriously contemplated walking out there with my floor jacks and rollers to push it into the middle of the street. Decided to not make it worse. Now that I think about it, the Ford Explorer in the picture was also mine at the time (wasn’t driving it to work because of some maintenance being done) and I probably…
Some asshole did that to my apartment building parking lot because we were across the street from a park. I drove my truck out the back, over the lawn and the guy caught up to me as I was attaching my tow strap to his front suspension. An argument ensued but i did disconnect and he left.
Screw that. You’re parking on someone else’s property without permission. That’s trespassing. And yes, you can have it towed without being charged with theft.
It’s Florida, he could of shot them set it the car on fire and no one would bat an eye.
Agreed.
