It has nothing to do with anonymity. It has everything to do with aesthetics. Licence plates do nothing to accentuate the color or lines of a vehicle. I purposely choose which Michigan licence plate I get based on how little it will affect the look of my vehicle. At least here in Michigan we don't have to have a plate…
