Yes, that's always been my assumption and I, too, haven't done too much reading beyond the actual ASOIAF books.

I don't recall seeing anything in reference to their texts regarding homosexuality, but I also haven't looked too deeply into the Faith of the Seven beyond just reading the books multiple times, so I very easily could have missed it.
