Thank you. She wouldn't have written "I wanted to loudly heckle the real-life Solomon Northrup" (if he were still alive), so I don't see why it being a film that most people don't know about suddenly makes it funny.

Being a "joke" doesn't excuse it from being rude and unjustified. It just makes it a rude and unjustified "joke". Replace "Philomena" with "Schindler" or "Solomon" and see if it's still funny.

Also, I wanted to loudly heckle the real life Philomena.

I know this isn't Deadspin, but that deserves a "+1"

I'd say not learning the words as written is pretty disrespectful to the playwright.

Can you explain why "trans person" is okay, and "tranny" is not?

Only if followed by a comma, as far as I'm aware.

You should capitalise the first letter of a sentence, and end your sentence with a full-stop (in America, it's also known as a period).

Glass houses, throwing stones, all that.

Says the burner who starts his sentence with a conjunction.

I have a feeling I'm giving your intellect too much credit

Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to take that seriously? I stopped when you compared calling out appropriation to "false rape claims".

Too long; didn't read.

It doesn't - it drowns out other voices. Just like everyone acted like Miley made twerking a "thing" when it had been a "thing" for years.

Regardless, I think we can both agree that how that period of is portrayed in modern culture should be a matter for Egyptians to decide, right?

I was curious, since everyone around here thinks they know who is offended and why they should be. Turns out they're mostly dead wrong on that, go figure, huh? Sure some people will be I guess, but not all

Oh, so you "have a black friend". Go on, tell me more. While you're at it, take another sociologically-incorrect swipe at a culture to which you don't belong - you're last one gave me a good chuckle. I don't think you are a racist for disagreeing with me - I think you're a racist for your gross comment about

you just look like an ass

I'm anything but a racist.
