I'm glad someone else made this point. As a non-American, I can't really begin to imagine the kind of emotions that Americans and specifically New Yorkers were feeling that night, and so a lot of the triumphant celebration throughout the episode is pretty lost on me. From the outside, it seems almost taboo to suggest

I still love that movie. Don't know how anyone could not.

I'm less concerned with the money I'm spending, and more concerned with the time I'm wasting. Life is too short to watch annoying movies (I say annoying as opposed to bad, because you can never watch The Room too many times).

You guys are nuts. Waking up to bad music just makes me hit snooze and retreat back into my dreams which are always more appealing than the approaching day. If I can wake up to a song I love, I'll just just lie there and enjoy it, and know everything's going to be okay.

So how may people here posted on the alt.tv.simpsons?  I read it a lot (I would've been 9 when this episode aired) and I'm quite sure I posted more than a once. There's no way I could possibly recognize one of my posts if I saw it, but if one pops up with really bad grammar and spelling, and some particularly inane

Although its a fairly up beat show,  Gilmore Girls was really good at ending it's episodes on an ever-so-slightly cynical, "life is kind of unsatisfying" note. So many episodes conclude with conflict being unresolved, but in a way that was nicely understated.
