I don’t think her origin story is dated, frankly. Talking about abusive relationships isn’t dated. And honestly I think it’s the fact that Harely Quinn as a character faces ugly realities about life and love that has made her a feminist icon, not “outgrowing” her origins.

Whitewashing is clearly a very real thing. I wonder if “Ghost in the Shell” is the best example of it, however, because I’ve always felt (at least in the animated movie, which is my only real experience with GITS) that the ethnicity of the lead was a bit ambiguous.

I relate to how you feel, although I am able to play horror games and love them. But the fear never leaves me. Doom EASILY, with Overwatch a strong second. I think the Watch is coming in second for two reasons: 1) It is a tiny bit feature-deficient, and I’d like to see some more modes, ranked play, and etc. 2) DOOM just came outta nowhere! I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did.
