It's "Little Lost Robot" from the I, Robot collection. While there is some discussion of what this alteration of the First Law could entail, most of the story concerns tracking down one of the altered robots that has gone into hiding among ordinary robots.

I liked the fact that Meemaw was basically unlikable (no, overprotecting Sheldon was not redemptive IMHO). Didn't like that she was a role model for staying married to an abusive jerk (they didn't say abusive, but they what they said could be seen as euphemistic for that).

Not that it helps, but it's not a blade in there. It's just a piece of metal that spins really fast.

My impression is that when she's heavy-handed, she's showing weakness or anxiety, and that's the writer's intent.
