It's a reasonable faithful adaptation of a well regarded Heinlein story ("All You Zombies") which is why the logic of it holds together.

It's not as good as the first, but it's certainly better than the third.

A little Specter too, in the origin story I think, and the monolgue sounded a bit like the Forever Knight opening.

According to others on this thread, series 2 is in the works, so there's hope?

A few of the reveals of who was in the bunker were surprising to me. But it got stale after 10 episodes.

Technically, it could go either way, and while IIRC, while the Iain Hollands would like to do a second series, he'd be OK if that was the end.

A plant species fine. All plants everywhere at exactly the same time. Nonsense.

Not to mention that water comprises 60% of the tasty humans they came to eat.

Not "crappy" just not one you agree with, which is fine.

Sorry, but not only do I really feel this way, but it's a pretty common opinion. "Home", "Bad Blood" , "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" etc. are the way this show is remembered for an awful lot of folks.

In terms of influence and capturing zeitgeist, x-files was significant. The general culture barely noticed Fringe.

The best X-Files eps were unrelated to the arc. Like the original Night Stalker the basic set up was a perfect template for telling all sorts of stories.

I guess I found that trippy, more than creepy, but the spurs thing really bugged me. It was just mean and Jake put up with it. and it didn't really go anywhere or mean anything…it was just BMO being a dick.

Well certainly the overt trappings of 'American'. Like the meaning of the American flag between the two seasons.

I thought it was a very strong pilot.

There's a difference between wanting to restore the rule of law and democracy, and wanting to restore a President who took a powder when things went to hell, though.

That's probably the best example. Because one group actually bought ad time to complain about the show, IIRC, and the show responded by having some Hindu "community leader" appear with Lucy Lawless to say, no, it's cool.

They're not very tolerant of women out on their own.

Nope, although even their own members don't always get that right:

I think that's just meant to show that it's popular. Advanced booking doesn't imply screening, it just means it's a hot ticket.
