@Kaiser-Wilhelm-II: You may be confusing it with the amount of time given to late-night talk show hosts.

@theweakend: I'm with you. What the hell does this thing exist for? Last I know, US law regulates that a 5mW laser is the max power certified for general public use. Anything above that is limited to specific uses, safety procedures, certification, etc.
@sleeping143: Yup, but I can't blame Giz for this one. The rest of mainstream media is reporting it as the "first" also. Here's a rather lengthy debunking from Phil Plait: [blogs.discovermagazine.com]
We had the "Flash Screen" as kids. Same thing. No need to paint. Batteries not included.
@Sean Godos: Ug. Crappy light design is crappy. "Lets put the bulb in a globe so that all the light shines out and up in every direction except down, where it is actually needed!"
@macshome: Yeah, whats the story? I don't remember anything being paved above the treeline the last time I was there! That blows. And guardrails? Really?
@bluetom00: I'd be happy if they just lopped off that last $8 billion and gave it to NASA.
@Brian Bull: I was wondering the same thing. There appears to be a Picasa/Facebook uploader, but it only seems to enable uploading of images from the Picasa software directly to Facebook. I'd rather see items I upload to Picasa Web Albums be duplicated or auto-updated to my Facebook feed.
@Ellipsis marks are ... my friends: No! Wait! This has never happened before, honest! Just... gimme a few minutes...
@Psiu! Puxa!: It wouldn't seem jumping a curb would be necessary to royally eff things up. Gingerly rolling over a speedbump, or small pebble, seems like it would do the trick.

We'll be in that 1/8 statistic this year. Once our Comcast 6-month promo rate runs out in June (and jumps from $69 to $110/mo) we'll drop cable and keep internet only. Even then I may consider cutting Comcast out all together depending on if Clear is any better at providing internet in my area.
While I agree, I find myself in the difficult situation of a very tiny office sometimes cramped with up to 8 people. I sit 5-feet from my boss who is a serial interrupter, frequently turning around to ask me to Google something for him (is his Google broken?) and surprising everyone by putting clients on speakerphone…
For those who like freebies, [Unclutterer.com] is giving away a bunch of these to randomly selected Twitter followers of theirs: [unclutterer.com]
@Firesphere: I've got to agree with @furmanj on this one and assume there will be plastic bag tasting coffee as well. Also, my Bodum's plunger is a tight enough fit as it is, I couldn't imagine it being smooth sailing with another wrinkly, foldy layer of material between it and the glass. Speed and extreme efficiency…
I took one semester of Introduction to Web Design in college, though my concentration was all fine arts based. That class planted the seed that I went and learned web development all on my own (and eventually realized that everything they taught in class was wrong) and now I'm a web designer for my full-time job.
