Yeah, I loved their portrayal of the goths/satanists. They’re just having this huge 24/7 rave, and everyone in town seems to know about it, but nobody does anything. Also, they seem to be pretty decent people once one pushes past the satan-loving facade.

I was very happy to see Tom stick up for himself, but I would have appreciated it if he had waited until AFTER the threesome to do so.

I haven’t watched it yet basically for the reasons you mention. I’m sure I will at some point, but I was quite satisfied with the way Breaking Bad ended and can’t see much upside to a movie that breaks open that definitive ending again.

With regard to Tom’s potentially impending doom, I think I can speak for all commenters here when I say, “We here for you.”

This was a great episode, but I will be incredibly disappointed if we’re now deprived of seeing the Baby Billy and Judy Lee Misbehavin’ 2020 tour.

The other thing with Marcia is that I think she rebuffed Shiv’s proffered alliance on the plane because she knew Logan would hate the surprise party. She was just letting Rhea hang herself.

I’m kind of torn on what will happen in the Senate. If I had to bet, I’d definitely bet on there not being a 2/3 majority who vote for conviction.

I just watched this episode to get caught up for tonight, and man, that scene of Judy on stage with Eli watching was some powerful shit. This show clearly set out to be a comedy, but sneaks in some real profundity, while it’s Sunday night partner, Succession, gives the appearance of a prestige drama (and kind of is),

Yeah, even though Cameron is the most (only?) outspoken one, you have to figure that there are other current or former members of the national team who are Trumpers. I could definitely see Lalas or Wynalda being the sort of trollish contrarians who would like Trump.

After reading through the “team Shiv” posts, I’m not sure why I shouldn’t be team Rhea. She’s framed as the villainous usurper coming from the outside, but she’s more competent than any of the Roy kids (she seemingly managed Pierce successfully until Nan booted her for scheming with Logan), and it’d be hard to argue

I’m not sure I think that Shiv is the smartest in terms of pure business acumen. She’s obviously good at PR and general, big picture strategy stuff, but could she actually sift through the nitty gritty financial details the way Kendall did with Vaulter?

It’s just locker room talk/behavior!

It’s interesting to see how everyone’s past experiences color their feelings about this new series. I never watched Lost, but I loved The Leftovers, so I mainly associate Lindelof with that. I never read the original Watchmen, but I did see the Snyder film, which I thought had some interesting ideas with plenty of

Yeah, as a professor I feel silly about complaining about going back to school after a 3-month summer break, but I feel like the long break kinda makes the transition worse. I get so used to just getting lost in my research and reading all sorts of obscure, interesting-to-me shit that it’s painful to go back and get

Yeah, I get that there are millions of ways this can and probably will go wrong, but in theory, it makes sense to date in an extended friends-of-friends network. This is how we’ve usually paired off, as you said, and you get at least a little bit of quality control knowing that your potential match isn’t so awful that

It’s like the Joker is attacking Gotham, and everyone really wants Batman to come and fix things. Instead, Robin shows up and just tells people incessantly how awesome Batman is.

I’m really interested in where Kendall goes from here. It clears seem like he can’t keep doing what’s he doing. The obvious arc for him is to spiral downward with drug use or outright suicide.

Looks like Benioff and Weiss were giving Abrams notes. “You see, J.J., the perfect way to cap off a beloved series is to turn the female protagonist into the villain! Everybody loves that shit!”

I loved that line. And I also loved his dream about going on the PBS-esque talk show and insulting Thomas Friedman.

My ranking of the aspects of the show:
