I admittedly love the X351 XJ, but whether or not it worked, I think it was justifiable to move away from the design language used from the Series 1 through X358 XJ’s. It was always supposed to be a modern car, and by 2010, had basically aged into a retro pastiche. Even worse, while the X350/358 is a much roomier car…

That is the golden standard of “WTF were they smoking?” botched redesign.  It went from a somewhat conservative, but still attractive design into some hellscape interior and forced oval everything.  Never recovered from that...

I live in SV and there are more M3 and MYs on the road than anywhere else in the country. MS and MX’s are slowly starting to fade away and looking at the cars in my kids school pick-up line, everyone that had an aging MS or MX replaced them with Rivian, Lucid, and ze Germans.
