IIRC they were some crazy form of lease where you didn’t actually own it and couldn’t resell the car for some time. I seem to remember people being upset by this so it’s possible some people refused to take delivery unless they owned the car.
“No low ballers, tire kickers; firm price, no test drive without a letter of credit. I know what I’ve got.”
As I recall ToyLex claimed all 500 were sold back when they came out. I guess their marketing department sold a lie.
I saw an LFA at the last motor show we had in Melbourne, Australia in about 2009. I thought it was amazing - but at A$750k, the price was as well.
How do they keep a car “new” throughout the years? Do they occasionally fire it up and drive it around just to keep everything lubricated and in order? (I’m sure there’s lots of little metal places that can corrode if it just sits)
That’s why I passed on it.
The 3 people who were disappointed with the BMWupra and spent their parts from japan money on the LFA instead. Good move honestly, and it looks more supra than the current one does.
It was almost six years ago. I was able to get them.
Wish somebody would get together a vinyl reissue of the Dentist Office Series.
Anybody in the audience ever get hit by a car?
WRT the Trump emissions rollback thing: hasn’t his only argument (outside of “I’m the boss, so you have to do what I say”) been “new cars are unsafe because they have crumple zones?” It’s amazing to me the mental gymnastics Trump supporters go through to rationalize the bats--t ideas coming out of the Oval Office.
It’s quite the interesting interplay between the “fuck the cops” and “fuck the millionaires” crowd I’d imagine.
I misread that at least four times an was very confused. But, yes, now that you mentioned it, it does.
I live in Central PA and I have a small YouTube channel (2,100 subs) where I review cars. I got to drive an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and it was pretty amazing in every way. That was my favorite automotive moment!
So I guess we’re giving Bloomberg a pass on his whole “The 2008 financial crisis was caused by Black people buying houses they couldn’t afford”.
Bloomberg should just run as the republican dictator he craves to be.
