The world is flooded with these supposed halo cars from exotic manufacturers. The press talks ‘em up a few weeks, Youtubers get ‘em for yet another acceleration challenge (yadda yadda), and then the spotlight moves on. Rinse and repeat. It’s obnoxious.

I got a Lyft to the airport in a new Gladiator. The woman told me it was $66,000.   I would have guessed half that.  Stellantis has a customer base of rubes.

Was just at the dealership to pick up some hard-to-source parts, for a car that is only 8-years-old.... (The average age of vehicles on the road is 12.6 years old, by the way.) While there, I found out their service department now charges $250 an hour. That’s in Denver.

A Denver native here...  I bought a ‘72 MGB when I was 23 years old and that was my only car until I was 30.  Regular work schedule, etc.  I think I missed maybe three days of work because of weather over that time.  My point?  Along the Front Range, winters are simply not that bad and the snow removal guys do a great…

Some of the culprits in this car’s sales issues are surely quarter-mile-time-is-everything Youtubers / Car and Driver dick-measurers, etc.

Reminds me of when I worked in a tech start-up and then 2001 happened. Huge offices with 5 people wandering around stealing kitchen supplies, printer paper, etc. before the final round of layoffs.
