The crotch of the dress reminds me of the thing that Cher wore in the Turn Back Time video, and the way her skirt and shoes work together, her legs end up looking Hobbity.

I think Chrissy is frequently dressed to stun - like the latex dress at the VMAs. You may just not like this look. Her stylist has a lot of things custom made for her.

I think more telling than the black is the number of garments featuring pants and pockets. It may seem trivial/frivolous, but it’s not. Usually, in my recollection, it’s been people like Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep who could pullstuff like that.
