The Storm casting was more justified in its day. At that time getting Halle for an action-packed “comic” movie (which wasn’t a thing like it is now) was a real get. She was the true film star of the ensemble as opposed to the theatre of Jackman and TV-role Stewart.

I want to say that if Amandla really wanted in this project I’ll bet there is a role for her in the franchise down the road, but I can’t imagine a different cast. It’s bold of her to step forward and say she wanted this but it felt wrong.
