Weird! We always stuff the bird AND do a casserole because the stuffing (in the bird) is very moist from being in the steamy cavity while the dressing (in the casserole dish) has the best crunchy bits!

We put sausage in our dressing! Same recipe as above but instead of butter: remove from casings, crumble and cook the sausage, remove when cooked put on a plate but, then the sausage fat in the pan (with butter if not enough) is what you cook the veggies in.
