This is going to sound crass but as someone who works with kids around your daughter’s age I’ve seen parents beat, abandon and even ultimately disown their kids who have only been put through about 1/4 of the things you have.

Dude, it’s so sad. She adopted a rescue and it was found almost starved to death on the streets. Neither she or Chris had put out a missing dog notice. At best she rehomed the dog without notice or permission from the rescue and the new owners were trash.
