When I’m playing with my friends we always work to a “Never shoot first” policy. We’ll always send an ‘Ahoy!’ when we sail past another ship but if they fire on us they’re fair game. Griefing and trolling isn’t going to make the game fun for anyone, so we try to be pleasant pirates when we’re on the sea.
