Virginia Kruta sounds like a shitty dish served at a wedding between 1st cousins.

Leonard is so thin skinned too.

Yeah considering the cost for a parent to take their kid to see a game in even the “cheap seats” anymore there shouldn’t be any pressure on them to have to throw back a big moment like that. If that crap was around when I was a kid & it happened to me I’d probably have ended up no longer liking baseball.

“This man is watching the world change around him and doesn’t know how to react—what used to be so easy that he hadn’t ever had to think about it is now nothing but questions”

Like, I don’t hate my parents’ rich neighbor because he has a bigger house & nicer cars than they do. I hate him because he proudly supports maintaining a country where they will lose everything they have if one of them gets cancer while still calling himself their “friend”.

But staying in the middle is the only way we can theoretically win without actually doing anything better than the Republicans!

Lupica probably gets to go around doing the firing and/or lecturing everyone to act professional about it.

I have fuzzy memories of watching Saito when I was very young. I got into his stuff a lot more in the last few years though, what a talent.

Their attorney’s attempt at making that & all of the other stuff that followed sound like some incredible coincidence of misunderstandings was some A+ lawyer cliche stuff too.

I occasionally work in publicity/marketing & we recently did a panel using teens about music stars & a ton of the kids said they liked a couple of stars noticeably lacking in any obvious talent because they made them feel like THEY could be stars too. I think this dips a bit into why reality TV stars get so insanely

This has gotten so out of hand in recent years that it’s always going to earn this immediate reaction. Also I remember seeing a kid get booed for not throwing back a visiting team home run ball (an obnoxious “tradition” spreading like a disease) before ultimately doing so while tears poured down his face.

Still to this day the funniest (and saddest) anti-union shit I ever heard was in an orientation seminar for Verizon & the speaker clearly scanned the room for anyone older than 40 & found them & said “Unionizing just prevents you from controlling your future. We want to reward your good work with a big raise? Nope.

Loyalty is bullshit & fans typically only buy into it when it’s being used to smear a player who left town & sometimes depending on the city, whether it was their choice or not.

Someone should list a “pair of unwashed underwear worn by Papa John!” for $1,200 on eBay just to see how many minutes go by before they get the “You’ve received an instant payment from Bob Wilson!” email.

Actual exchange I vividly remember from early 2000's:

The more true things are the more people get angry when someone points them out.

To me it’s like asking which is a better path to becoming insanely rich, winning the lottery or collecting loose change across the country as an every day commitment for a significant portion of your life.

The only reason I can’t call America a toilet is because toilet paper doesn’t cost $50 ($75 if you’re using a credit card) a square yet.

Smart too. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve heard someone say some shit like “He’s got a lot of money so I’m sure he’s smart enough to do this”. Often contradicting another recent comment like “Just because they have money they think they know everything!” from someone they disagree with.

This definitely explains why he’s spent the last 20 years living every local business owner’s wettest dream. He’ll mostly be pissed he never got to film the commercial where he passes the torch to his sons. No doubt featuring a contractually obligated Peyton Manning making a terrible joke about having to play center
