When I saw the headline I thought maybe the video involved someone trying to reseat the bead using an explosion. There are tons of videos of that method failing catastrophically on YouTube.

Not really MacGuyvering. All of his tools were the correct ones for the job. He’s just demonstrating you don’t need a shop full of power tools and products to do a simple job like repairing a puncture.
What was sketchy though? He was taking a tire off a wheel, removing a nail, patching it and remounting it.
I commute with my weekend car (an older Ferrari) on occasion, especially if it happens to be off-peak hours.
I dunno man, I have an exotic and I live in NYC. I also hate track driving and rarely have the time to get out to do proper ‘grand touring’. I just like my car.
Is the author of this “post” unaware of Clarkson’s public persona? Or just a person who has little to no understanding of subtle British humor?
While this may look incredibly sketchy, I think it may actually be the only way of fixing a flat in a country that is low on resources but abundant with skilled tradespeople.
What was “incredibly sketchy” about any of this?
It’s called vulcanizing.
Especially given that actual science shows no one probably cheated.
Actually hes sat down with them and told them how he planned the whole story to play out in the major plot points, including the ending. The writers know it already and kudos to them for not spilling any beans. But yes, im kinda pissed about this.
Started reading 12 years ago for me, and I agree completely.
It’s a dumb argument because very, very, few people are in this situation. Now that GOT is super popular everyone, especially hipsters CLAIM to have read the books. Have they though? 9 times out of 10 they haven’t. Just like when people CLAIMED to have read LOTR but the only differences they could mention in…
“Last season was just awful.”
I’m with you. I love the books and will definitely read them, but some of the things the show has struggled with are the same things that have been poor in the books: Dany’s arc in book 2, Brienne’s arc in book 4 & 5, the sheer number of pointless characters as the story dithers around (looking at you Quentyn Martell,…
I’ve been waiting 5 years to see what happens to Jon Snow. There’s no way I’m skipping the show. I’ve also lost any semblance of loyalty to the book narrative over the show. Did I prefer consuming this particular story in book format? Definitely. But GRRM saw this coming. He chose to write for the show (until last…
“It never comes up for air, none of the characters are likable”
That about sums it up. Book may never come, show cannot be avoided.
OK, let’s not forget that the show is superior to the books in many other ways too. So many arguments have been made about this, so I’m not going to replicate that, but I truly believe that GRRM lost himself after the (exceptional) third book. The show gave a sense of direction to the story that was (and still is)…
I will watch despite feeling slightly cheesed that the books haven’t been finished, but really its for two reasons.
