Huh, my mom went with “We need to do lots of research first to make sure it’s healthy and safe. We could talk to people who have tattoos to see what they feel about having it done. I want to go with you when you get it done, to make sure the person doing it is doing everything right. Maybe we can watch them tattoo

You seem very determined to find someone with “fuck” tattooed on themselves, so Hi. I have “Fuck the world” tattooed on my arm with cobwebs around it. I work a kickass web development job at a large online retailer. I have also previously spent over 10 years working in Graphic Design with large corporates ranging from

Coincidentally, our marketing department just (as in a few minutes ago) released an internal, company-wide presentation. The featured character- a young, tattooed male (arm tattoo). I think the message is pretty strong- we’ll hire you if you’re qualified, regardless of how you look.

Why are you all over this? How could it possibly impact you at all?

No, but your original statement didn’t differentiate between a tattoo containing those words and a tattoo that doesn’t. Your original statement was that tattoos in general will keep a person from having a good job.

What I find somewhat puzzling is an inability to understand how someone could possibly have a different relationship to both body and appearance than you do.

this is too awesome...

Haha, no. It’s like calling someone square, uncool, a dork.

Those who have visible tattoos (behind the ear/on the neck) did not attempt to cover them during interviews. I’m not sure about the people with tattoos on their arms- typically people wear suits on interviews, so the arms would be covered, regardless. But we are hiring a lot more people who don’t fit the traditional

Lol, this is the most sanctimonius and smug garbage I’ve read in a long time. Do some more yoga.

How the hell is it someone else’s writing if the person getting the tattoo is picking it? Besides, your ways of carrying your stories aren’t particularly different than getting a tattoo. Humanity has been interested in writing on skin for a very long time and I think of the desire to modify one’s body as something

This is absolute bullshit. I just got a HUGE FUCKING tat on my back/up the back of my neck, and I work in politics. Everyone loves it.

You don’t own your child’s body, and you already know that reacting like that doesn't pay off.

Well I know you don’t care about my response but since you put this out there-

I have to agree with all these people disagreeing with you. I work for a very buttoned-up corporation and it’s not at all unusual to see younger people with tats on their forearms. That doesn’t mean they always wear long-sleeve shirts, either.

Shiiiit, I better tell my boss! And here I was pulling down six figures in a corporate environment without ever realizing I didn’t actually have a good job because good jobs require you to cover your tattoos.

No my skin isn’t orange it’s just dark in my room so I had to use a bright filter.

The two people I know with the most tattoos are

I’m too uncool to know what it means. Is it a synonym for stoner or pothead?

Hiya! Fatty here. I have a tattoo on the back of my fat arm that says ‘suck it’ underneath the image of a lollipop. I like to imagine people walking behind me and feeling judgy and reading it.
