But what’s the point of Jalopnik if not trashing everything Americans hold dear? This makes them edgy critical theorists and not just millenial malcontents right?

“In motorsport — and primarily within European motorsport circles — a paddock is the name given to the garage area, where teams park their transporters and prepare their race cars. In America, we’re more likely to just call it a garage.”
This is false. Anyone who frequents racing in the US would know this is common…
High fuel prices also mean you pay more for the fuel you have no realistic choice of avoiding, e.g. heating in the winter, and more for most goods and food that require fuel for their transportation. It’s a net decrease on everyone’s standard of living when fuel prices are high. Clearly politicians from both parties…
Good thing that CARB made sure cars limit their pollution. Obviously much of the problem comes from diesel trucks and ships, which are a bit harder to replace. Most of human civilization is going to cause environmental harms, so I think it’s just a question where we draw the line.
Isn’t it horrific how governments are trying to hurt their citizens by lowering gas prices?
Narrower tires are better if it snows!
It’s no Miura, but the best I can say is that the i3's styling isn’t boring. I can’t say the same about the Bolt.
At 238 miles of range for the $20k models, the Bolt isn’t exactly a long-distance road tripper either, but point taken. I’m thinking for most people’s commutes both have enough range.
For most types of cars I’d agree, but BEVs have less maintenance in general, so that shouldn’t hurt quite as much. And since both cars are most likely going to be off warranty anyways, you might as well go to a specialist who doesn’t charge dealership prices.
You misspelled i3. Better styling, safer carbon tub, optional range extender, better build quality and interior all for similar money.
Jalopnik is now only second to Fox News for the airing of bitter grievances ad nauseam.
Makes a good noise, but at 4000 lbs the engine needs more torque.
The secret with this one is to buy it off lease with like 20k miles for less than $30k though. You get pretty much the same thing you are in now.
Fake exhaust tips on a performance car are an immediate no from me, dog.
Japanese cars: small on the outside, small on the inside
At 3800 lbs, 395 lb-ft just ain’t enough, especially not for nearly $100k. There are just to many newer, faster, nicer cars on the market. A Supra costs just over half as much, weighs 400 lbs less, and has a much better transmission. For less than the money this costs it’s baffling to think you could instead get a…
“But if car prices are no longer based on supply and demand, rather a pure desire for profit from carmakers, the value of the dollar isn’t really changing. The people taking those dollars from you have just gotten greedier.”
Maybe that would have been true before DTS, but I think the money to be made from the broadcast and advertisers mean that the event’s profitability doesn’t depend exclusively on attendance. The article doesn’t really mention that these new US races are on their first runs, so obviously when there has been so much pent…
The capitalism referenced pejoratively in the quote from the article is literally the solution. If fans last year thought spending what they spent to sit in the sun in Miami was too much and now won’t go, guess what happens to prices? Eventually the race gets priced where it ought to be thanks to supply and demand.…
A Ford GT and Evora GT are quite the his and hers!
