It appears it did spark discussion? But since my initial comment was too short, I’ll expound on it.

Formula E isn’t interesting for many reasons, but I’ll just point out three.

1. The senses. Formula E lacks the visceral engagement of all senses compared to ICE racing. On TV, watching a bunch of cars move silently

Joke’s on you when the new rules come out and Max jumps ship.

I was led to believe this is a website where people discuss their opinions about cars. My bad.

Also net zero for my interest.

Many reviews have noted the more compliant tuning of the Supra compared to modern BMWs as why Toyota built the better BMW.

If you look up the performance stats, they overlap almost exactly with a PDK 991 Carrera S... A Challenger is a GT car.

The NSX is just overpriced. It needed to be priced like a GT-R if it wanted to compete. I wouldn’t call the Supra that overpriced...

What sports car puts down better performance stats new for the same or less money? Closest I can think of is a Camaro SS, but even then you get similar performance with lower materials and build quality.

The Z4 only offers the I4 for the same price as the I6 Supra. Combined with the increased structural rigidity of the coupe, if you like driving dynamics over brand prestige the Supra is a no-brainer over the Z4 and the better performance numbers prove it.

Because feeding a family is free?

Do you really think it’s the fires that began in the past 2-3 weeks causing people to flee the Bay Area and LA? Might it have more to do with the pandemic that has lasted 6 months or so and the much less business-friendly approach CA took compared to TX? Or perhaps the years-long increases in living costs that were

Right, but it’s hard to look at them both without thinking that some of the proportions/styling cues/etc. were recycled just as bits of the MC20 may have been salvaged from Alfa Romeo’s cancelled project.

No, it’s the new Dino.

And so did the Alfieri also become the Roma?

It’s too bad nothing Volvo makes now or plans to make carries the ethos of this car. All we get are hybrid/electric porkers now.

It seems to be the way of the world at the moment. The Supra and Corvette were most recent, but it’s how every Ferrari comes today, along with every McLaren, Lamborghini, Audi, etc. Even epic rides like the 911 GT2 have no manual.

Given they’re in the same corporation, how about they just rebadge the Alpine A110 and sell that instead?

Perhaps, but many of those buyers still want to pretend they’re actually somebody like Magnus Walker. You know, the dentist on the Harley. It’s hard to do that if your cars don’t develop a hardcore of wealthy enthusiasts, which these cars won’t.
