I stopped watching The View when Candace Cameron Bure was one of the hosts. I despised her far right extremist bullshit, padded with churchy, Huckabee-like phrases to make her appear likable and relatable.

The pot smoking scene can still make me laugh until I literally cry. The way DJ’s name sounded so weird to them....”Deeeeee Jaaaaaaay”, just that little bit about his name, made it so real for me.

I can picture the first scene, showing the living room and Roseanne walking in with some kind of sarcastic quip, “We’re baaaaack!” or “I must be dreaming!” followed by some thinly veiled Trump fodder.

There was a dude on the last Handmaid’s Tale post who was insisting on mansplaining what the show/book was really about (it’s NOT about women! wahhhh!) and then it turns out he’s never read the book, or watched the show because it hadn’t come out yet.

I love the book, but I would also love if we had the courage to admit that it’s flawed and that the description of the Ceremony is intended to be titillating on some level (if only to shock/entice readers and stay burned in our memories).

I find it incredibly distracting. I’m also not an asshole though so if someone deaf/hearing impaired needed it on I wouldn’t be upset, I’d just deal with it.

I like how their clothes looks, but the excessive amounts of polyester means I can’t actually wear any of it around people if I risk sweating even a drop of moisture, lest I smell like a wet dog next to a space heater.
