I like Mrs. Renfro’s if I can’t find Melina’s. Medium is perfect, but (perhaps not shockingly) mixing mild and hot gets you there too.

Apparently the GMG staff was asked not to make comments about Splinter’s demise. b/c the media would take care of that and “out of respect” for those who were laid off. 

We never did this in my house, with one exception. My mom LOVED the “mild” sauce at Taco Bell. When we would go, she would always stuff about 20 into the takeout bag for when we made tacos at home.

I came here to say, how can you not have Mrs. Renfro’s on this list? The Jalapeno is my favorite green salsa & the Mango Habanero is amazing on fish tacos! Definitely the best jarred stuff around. Watch out for the Ghost pepper one though unless you like REALLY hot.

We did this at my office recently. My personal favorite was Frontera, but everyone liked one particular Pico that I freaking hated. It tasted like bad artificial sweetener to me. I have my local favorites, but I'll say Frontera for my bigger distribution choice. It might not adhere to your price stipulation, though.
