I would imagine if you had a bluetooth headset you could use either Voice Control or Siri in a fairly crowded area without any issues at all. The software is obviously targeted at phone interactions while in the car though.

I didn't say there was more storage at the same price point. I said there was more storage. There's a difference.
There was a guy on this year's America's Got Talent called "The Kinetic King" and all he did was make a whole bunch of chain reaction gadgets like this, then blow them up on the stage and ask for votes.
I personally think Siri is going to be much larger than Gizmodo is giving it credit for. Yes, it didn't really take off that well as an App, but as an OS integrated (and now Apple-backed) project, you know it's going to be good, it's going to work, and it's going to be used.
Apple didn't "pick" anything. They purchased the Siri software around April of 2010, when it was an iphone/android app that does the exact same thing it did in Apple's demo. I assume a requirement of the purchase would be that the name would be kept intact for future implementations.
WHERE CAN I GET THAT USB CABLE!!?!?
exactly what I was thinking, lol.
Well, about them being "greedy" with the OS....I assume it's probably "developed with an iDevice in mind". (read: easier to code and smaller because we already know exactly what the hardware can and can't do, but comes with the concession that it will never work completely on a third party device)
Wow! I can't believe you actually got an email from your mom asking about it on the day of the announcement! For me, that's like...snapping a photo of the loch ness monster, then turning around and seeing a sasquatch taking a picture of me. It just....doesn't happen! I try to force tech on to my parents as best I…
I agree that would *generally* be a mistake, but I would assume in this situation Apple typically expects a maximum shelf-life of their mobile hardware to be less than 3 years. Neither twitter nor facebook will disappear in such a short amount of time, so the integration makes perfect sense.
sounds like somebody's angry :(
iOS5 "might" come out same day, but new hardware would definitely be 1 week later. Apple would never release major consumer hardware without a pre-order/reservation period. They <3 all of the news coverage of people standing in line.
Wow, this is awesome! Good for them! Screw those guys, I'm glad they got arrested. You wouldn't think it would be that bad, but just the flashes in that video alone make it pretty damn clear that it can be extremely dangerous for the pilot.
I thought I'd seen a lot in my 24 years old this planet. Some shocking things.
Hey man, it's a tough job getting THAT amp'd over a Microsoft initiative :)
