3 thoughts from tonight’s episode:

It would be easier if they can all change as fast as Eleanor’s second soulmate takes off his shirts.

The Bad Place never did seem like a “second chances” kind of deal. Are the bad placers also being punished for giving Michael a try, or are they also in on his punishment? Real Eleanor seemed too bereaved by her mediocre role for her to be in on it.

I don’t remember a tease. I think someone wants to use this show for a different purpose from the one the rest of us use it for,

My instincts tell me no, you’re wrong, they wouldn’t do that. But the exact same instincts kicked in last season when I saw someone suggest that they were in the Bad Place, so clearly my instincts cannot predict this show.

I can’t get enough of Jason’s yelling “Bortles!” like me and other Packer fans would yell out “Rodgers!” Hilarious, with an undercurrent of sadness.

yeah, in my experience the twists and cliffhangers held up while binging. the wait helps make it more palpable though.

+1, I’m really enjoying guessing/theorizing between eps

I like the idea that anyone would really need a recap of Cannonball Run’s plot to understand Cannonball Run 2.

The one reason I’m glad this isn’t streaming is because they do the best cliffhangers on TV. The last scene always sets up some huge development. I don’t think that would work quite as well when the next episode is ten seconds later.

Has there been any indication that Tahani is into Eleanor?

I never understood the appeal of Kristen Bell until this show, but man does she carry it every single week. Everybody else is great, especially Ted Danson, but she pulls off a magnificent balancing act.

And they need to up Tiya Sircar to series regular already.

That was kind of astonishing. I’ve never seen a show get laughs from blowing up its own premise repeatedly, then getting even bigger laughs from accelerating through multiple blow-ups of its own premise. I am genuinely kind of in awe at the nerve it takes to do something this out there this early in the season.

Well, presently Eleanor and Chidi aren’t in a relationship, they just know that they’ve been in one numerous rimes before. Or at least Eleanor knows.

“Catch the magic panda and use her powers.”

If ever one of you guys gets to interview Schur or someone involved with this show, I would be fascinated to learn just how long it took to shoot this episode. Because the sheer number of set ups and wardrobe changes necessary for all those iterations of The Good Place must’ve been time consuming, yet so worth it.

This show makes me wish I was better at speculating what’s to come, but also kind of happy I’m bad at it since I get to be surprised a lot.

There are so many great details and jokes in this show, but I still love how quickly Eleanor tends to go along with anyone’s suggestions—which are often her mistaken impressions that someone wants sex, but in this case was watching Cannonball Run 2 and immediately wanting a quick recap of the first one.

For the love of God, would someone please get Mindy some cocaine? She seems so sad without it.

The first 5 minutes of this episode is among the most hilarious things I’ve seen on TV, playing off the entire first season of character development while allowing new viewers to understand just what’s going on. “Meet your soul mate, Tahini.” Mindy walking in on them while she’s masturbating.
