Also a joke on Letterkenny, IIRC, though theirs was less polished and more “some drawings on a whiteboard”.

Came here to say this, even though I’m late to this post. It leads people to not take hurricanes as the major events they are. Though winter storms can certainly be dangerous, they do not reach the magnitude of hurricanes - for one, you can always shelter in place rather than evacuate, given a few preparations.

Another one to watch out for is DM, dextromethorphan. It can interact with many SSRIs and cause serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal.

It’s fucked up that we’re not more educated about the dangers of OTC meds as well, drugs.

Jeez, sounds like they were burned in the past!

I’ve focused on aspects of that positions I’m OK leaving behind. I used to manage my department budget, and during the interview for my current role (entry-level-at-this-org, nowhere near budget-making level) they asked about it. I just said, “If I never have to see another budget spreadsheet again, it’ll be too

People who don’t use incognito as a default on their phone confuse me.

A family friend had a kid who tripped on an escalator and got their lip stuck in the teeth. Being a good Catholic mom, my mother immediately told me about this to fuel my childhood anxieties.

I also once saw an elderly couple fall down an escalator. I have never dropped all my shit, not caring if it got stolen, and run

Someone needs to extend an invite to Green Shirt Guy.

omg really? Get in my face you delicious trash nuggets

You just gave me a total flashback. DAE remember those pancake and sausage on a stick things you’d get through Market Day? They were basically more savory corn dogs and they were AMAZING.

Also, people who put winter coats in the overhead bin should be permanently banned from flying by the FAA.

I moved someone’s bag before a flight last week because she had put it in sideways, with the handle fully extended. I didn’t give a fuck. I remain baffled and infuriated by this woman’s attempt to take up an entire bin for her single piece of luggage.  Like, what could possibly be the point of that?

I am pro-dibs, if only because if one person adds their car to a spot they didn’t dig out, then the original person literally has nowhere to park when they get home! That’s messed up!
Dibs is taking ownership of your hard work, and ignoring it is taking advantage of someone else’s hard work. In a blue collar city like

I recently found sheep’s butter at a store, and HIGHLY recommend.  It’s richer yet milder than cow’s butter. It cracks almost like lard. I want to try goat butter next.

Have you used kombucha vinegar yet? I have a batch I let go too long and is now about 1.5pH that I will be using in salad dressings and such!

Unfortunately, since those are licenses (and usually expire), not an owned item, the same type of lending agreement is not possible.

Oh, for sure! I’m just not sure how sensitive he is about it, personally. There’s sometimes that disconnect from what you LOGICALLY know and how you FEEL about something, you know?

Huh. So many people have mentioned this, I may (tactfully) bring it up at some point.

I work at a gov thinktank with a zillion engineers. This is extremely common.  Actually, our cafeteria toaster has a sign, but it shows up elsewhere as well.
