I recently learned that you can like, poison yourself from not farting? And it blew my mind.

This reminds me to check in with my 24 year old brother to see if he ever learned how to blow his nose.

I don’t think so, since he’s a programmer and that would likely cause some issues. It’s more contextual? Like I’ve learned I can’t use a referential “that” if I text/message him because he won’t know which noun it’s referring back to.

I discovered recently that my SO never learned how to read properly. He’s not illiterate, by any means, but he skipped around schools so much in early childhood that he never got a consistent reading curriculum. So he like... reads some of the words, but not in order? And then surmises the meaning from that?

I was recently in a hotel pool and someone was Facetiming IN THE POOL.  It felt borderline creepy.

As soon as someone says “more serious gaming,” I stop reading. Stop gatekeeping someone’s hobbies.

I just learned about A Simple Favor yesterday and was bummed it wasn’t streaming anywhere. Huzzah!

A friend of mine used fake IDs extensively at a certain college bar. One night, she didn’t feel like drinking, so she didn’t bring it. (You could get into bars at 19, but not drink.) They confiscated her real (underage) ID. She had to go back the next day with a bunch of other forms of ID to get it back. After that

My aunt ended up in jail in Tijuana because of this scam back in the 80s. Reminder: the cops are not your friends.

I’m not sure the plane we were on HAD business class. We were travelling to/from a South American country with little air traffic, haha.

Thanks for the seatguru link! I can’t recall if we even had the option to choose seats, but I’ll keep that in mind for the future.

Gretchen Rubin calls this a “ta-da list”.

Keep in mind that not everyone is familiar with particular aircraft. We recently got stuck in front of an exit row- those seats do not recline. My SO is of a similar build as you. I have some great pics of him with less than 9" between his torso and the seatback in front of him. This was an international flight with

I was going to clarify my comment, but your comment history suggests you’re just on here to be combative, so I wish you the best in your endeavors, though I suggest you take up knitting instead. There’s always a sale at Michaels.

Other retailers are getting into it too. I’ve had my eye on an outdoor table at Target. On Monday, the regular price increased by $50... I imagine to get “discounted” this coming Monday.

For those interested as to WHY the “lending” thing is the way it is. When you “purchase” an ebook, you’re purchasing a license to the content - not the iteration of the content itself, as you do with a book. Licenses may or may not be perpetual. In the case of ebooks, they often appear to be, but may be rescinded

That sounds melty.

That sounds melty.

If you’re an audiobook aficionado but have yet to sign up, this is still a better deal than the 3-month intro package + 9 months at the regular price!  I may finally bite the bullet with this, since I’ve spent a decent amount on audiobooks not available through Overdrive recently.

No ethical consumption under capitalism, etc etc

You, sir, are a wise man.

This is also a good case for therapy! Pay them to listen to the crap you need to get out!
