I feel like Anissa on Black Lightning is safe since I don’t think they’d kill off any members of the Pierce family, but who knows with the CW.

If you think Zack Handlen hates Discovery, don’t read Katharine Trendacosta’s reviews on io9. She quit recently and I thought they’d get someone fair-minded to review DSC, but she came back as a freelancer just go crap on this show. It got me to venture out to read the AV Club reviews instead.
Oh, having a Disney Princess name is rough! I should know. The Little Mermaid came out when I was in preschool. On the plus side, suddenly people knew how to spell my name. But ever since, I get asked, “were you named after the mermaid?” pretty regularly.
I have 4 parrots. 3 are rescued, and the 4th I got for my 12th birthday and I still have because parrots live for-fucking-ever. I volunteer with a parrot rescue and mentor people on how to care for their parrots. I honestly don’t think parrots should be pets since they aren’t domesticated, and non-conservation…
I don’t have a cat either! I think normal cat food would be kibble or canned food. Do they still make pet food out of sick livestock, road kill, and euthanized pets?
I don’t really get why vegans have pet dogs and cats anyways. There are herbivores you can keep as pets, and avoid the dilemma of what to feed them. Rabbits and parrots, for example, both of which end up in rescues so you don’t have to support a breeder either.
Was it Peter Singer?
PETA believes that it is better to be dead than in captivity. They believe domestic animals should be eradicated. I mean, I’ve been vegan for 15 years, and I don’t get it. They are zealots so far removed from animal rights they cause literal harm to animals.
The overlap between “vegan” and “animal lovers” is smaller than you’d think.
I don’t think vegan cats are a good idea, but the taurine in normal and “vegan” cat food is synthetic, so I don’t think they’ll go blind.
I was thinking of clueless bosses like @notmyyacht’s, who are usually hired or promoted. But yeah, we have plenty of clueless politicians too!
It continues to baffle me how people who are so clueless get to be in charge.
I love that Janet hides behind her cute little tie.
Yeah, you’re right. This isn’t the venue I need to say that; I need to just keep continue, “you don’t represent us,” when I confront TERFs themselves.
I don’t mean to be all #NotAllLesbians, but I’ve found TERFs to be a loud minority who do not speak for the majority of queer ciswomen.
Netflix didn’t renew their Xena license this year, but it is still on Hulu.
Hah! The show actually went on for three more seasons after the Hope/Solan plotline.
Indeed! Well HBO optioned it so I don’t know that it is 100% a done deal, but Okorafor has been in talks with HBO, and George RR Martin has signed up as an executive producer.
This is great news. I’m hoping that Dawn and the HBO adaptation of Nnedi Okorafor’s Who Fears Death will outshine that ill-advised Confederacy show. We need feminist AfroFuturism on television, and lots of it.
I didn’t know Horse’s Ass. Thanks for the tip! I wish Seattlish would come back. That was my favorite news site. Though I have insider info that they are releasing a voter’s guide soon.
