Nope, I had that T-Mobile plan as well... it’s been around a long time. However it’s not a simple thing to actually get these days (jump through some hoops, etc.). They have one, but, unlike with a mouse, the benefits are not really that great... backlighting would kill the battery in no time... and people can snoop on your typing. Since you don’t really move it around so much, the cable s not an issue at all...

No dedicated function keys means I cannot use it for work. Meta keys for Functions don’t really work for me. I do like the looks of minimalist keyboards and am in the process of building my own 60% one. But just won’t be able to really USE it.
