It’s easy to sleep under your desk if you either have no family, or you have enough money to pay someone to look after your kids. Sleeping under a desk is a fun one-off experience. Being forced to do it with no reward is another matter.

I’m a pretty experienced developer with decades under the belt. I can confirm doing exactly this in the past week. “No I cannot add namespaces to my language, you clearly don’t know how LALR(1) grammars work. It’s an impossible ambiguous shift-reduce error.” - Monday. “I’ve modified the tokenizer to include namespace…

I need both function keys and cursor keys for office and development work. So at least a TKL. (Or full if you use the numeric keypad). No backlight, Cherry Silver switches (easy and silent). Good quality keycap plastic (best is Cherry profile by GMK). Media keys since I need to pause and play music constantly in my…

I loved my old 911SC. I recall once when someone rear-ended me, their entire front was ruined, and I did not suffer a scratch. That entire car was an exercise in function over form, and its form was something I prized, so its function was just incredible. Those old Porsche bumpers were the best.
While I do love MS office, and I do subscribe to it and have that 1Tb. I don't really use it and instead also have the 1Tb Google storage. The reason is what happens when you stop paying. Google had way way better policies on this.
I love the fact how Chrome runs every tab’s plugins in separate processes. Can’t be too safe with my privacy and passwords. And whether Chrome uses 5% of my available memory or 10%, that’s not going to bother me much.
Lagavulin made scotch drinkable for me...
I’ve had whisk(e)y for many years. All kinds. Was never impressed. But recently all that changed when I had Lagavulin. Islay whisky FTW.
I think the problem is that you still see anime as a genre and not a medium. If you can’t get “into” anime, perhaps it’s the medium you don’t like? It has all the same genres and (anti-)tropes that regular film has in variety. Also I’ve been to Japan, and can attest that the people there don’t think and act like you…
What I would like to see is a list for 8 year olds. Most of these are for adults or YA.
Agreed. FLCL should not be on this list, I would replace it with Last Exile personally.
I lost a friend at University to this. Don’t delay.
but you’ll have to go back and manually locate the large files Disk Inventory X finds in Finder to remove them.

Except it isn’t nearly as improbable. I’ve won it, so has two of my close friends. Even though I won it, I actually got mine first through employment sponsorship.
Plus, I bet a trip like that is pretty interesting as well. Kinda like a micro-vacation.
I have a secure app running on my Synology in my private network at home. Accessible over the internet as well... It’s called NoteStation and I have apps for mobile and browser. It had functional parity with Evernote for my needs.
I kinda like:
