No I agree it’s different/worse, but I still think cruelty towards a loved one comes from self-loathing. I just mean she could say literally anything, she doesn’t necessarily believe it ar all, it’s all a twisted way to make her feel better.

I use to be cruel to my mom because I hated myself so much I wanted her to hate me, to prove I wasn’t loveable and get some sick sense of validation. Really ashamed of that, but since you love your mom I wanted to give you some potential insight into cruelty. It’s about her not you.
